"I have been trying for over 15 years to settle and work out an agreement with the IRS. I thought I had exhausted every avenue to obtain a resolution to my problem. "I must literally fight back tears of joy as I write this letter, because it's a letter I never thought I'd get to write. In short, I ended up with a $31,000 tax debt and no records to prove I didn't owe it. I sat down with the IRS, and told them I was going to hire a professional firm to file an Offer in Compromise for me. They said that was not necessary, and that I could it myself. “I have to admit how frightened I was with this whole situation. It began about 3 years ago when I moved to CA but was never was able to sell my house in another state due to the declining housing market.
